Family Involvement

 

Parent participation at Eagle River Open Optional is a fundamental feature of our program. Enrolling your child in EROO constitutes a commitment to support the program with your time in the classroom or in other ways. Families are asked to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per year, which can be completed by any family 
member or guardian who has an approved volunteer application on file with Eagle River Elementary. Annual ASD Volunteer Applications MUST be submitted and approved prior to any volunteer participation.

Opportunities to volunteer include but are not limited to: 

• Assisting at school/in the classroom
• Chaperoning field trips for the Open Optional and Neighborhood programs
• Attending EROO or Neighborhood PTO meetings
• Working at home preparing materials for Intensives, Cross Optional Opportunities, Learning Showcases, etc.
• And more!

Various announcements for volunteer opportunities are sent throughout the year to address specific events’ needs via our monthly Steering Committee meetings, newsletter emails to families, and our Facebook page.
