Optional Program

The Open Optional Program is an alternative learning program that is part of the Eagle River Elementary School community. This program follows the same defined state academic and social standards set by the State of Alaska as our neighborhood classes, however this program considers and fosters the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical developmental needs of each child. Equal emphasis is placed on creative, academic, and personal growth. From year to year, with our youngling/elder model, students gain responsibility, self-confidence, improve conflict resolution and group decision making skills, and learn self-discipline.
