Who Are We?

Eagle River Elementary has been educating Alaskan children and changing the future since first opening its doors in 1961. At our school, we take our motto to the heart, "Eaglets to eagles, we soar on the wings of knowledge". Our goal throughout the years has been, and continues to be, to provide a safe and enriching learning environment so all young learners can find success! Below are our school statements and commitments and how we aim each and every day to support our goal and students as they learn and grow.

Mission Statement: At ERE we will provide a safe and positive learning environment for the success of all our students, accomplished through engagement, motivation and perseverance.

Vision Statement: ERE will strive to create successful, happy, lifelong learners.

Daily Schedule:

Below is Eagle River Elementary's usual schedule. Our schedule is subject to change without warning, but we will do our best to communicate any unanticipated, sudden schedule changes.

Monday:

  • School starts one hour later for PLC meetings. Doors open at 8:45 am for students and school begins at 9:00 am. Students arriving before 8:45 am will be directed to the MPR aka lunch room where they will wait until 8:45 am with the option of sitting quietly or reading a book.
  • Breakfast begins at 8:50 am and is eaten in the classroom.

Tuesday through Friday:

  • School doors open at 7:45 for students and school begins at 8:00. Students may not be dropped off early to wait. 

 

  • Breakfast begins at 7:50 and is eaten in the classroom
  • Grades K-3 have their lunch & recess from 11:00 - 11:50. (Note: Some classes have their recess first, then go to lunch. Please be aware of this and reach out to your student's teacher to know when they have their lunch)
  • Grades 4-5 have their lunch and then recess from 12:00-12:50.

Please note: At this time, we are currently only able to offer shelf-stable lunches to our families. We do not have a cafeteria manager and cannot offer traditional hot lunch. Once this changes, we will notify our families. If you are interested in joining our team, please inquire with the front office!

  • Dismissal is at 2:30 each day.

 

School grounds are closed from 7:30 to 3:00. After dismissal, students must go home first and then are welcome to return after 3:00 to play on the playground.
